Nice to meet you

ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to my practice!

I began my professional journey as an academic general surgeon in Russia and South Africa before moving to the United States in 2007, where I transitioned to family medicine.

After completing my residency at the University of Kentucky, I practiced family medicine in California. Over time, I became increasingly drawn to preventive medicine. This interest stemmed partly from the frustrations of traditional primary care, which often felt like a race against time—treating symptoms instead of addressing the root causes of chronic illnesses. It was also influenced by my personal struggles with a growing workload, stress, weight gain, poor sleep, and lack of exercise.

In early 2022, I began studying and practicing both lifestyle and obesity medicine. The experience has been transformative—not only for many of my patients but also for me. So whenever I recommend something, it’s usually because I’ve tried it myself and have firsthand knowledge of its benefits and potential side effects. I truly understand your challenges: I know how hard it is to lose weight and keep them off, improve your sleep, maintain a healthy work-life balance, break a bad habit, or learn to manage your emotions. Been there, seen that.

For most of my career, I worked with large medical corporations, gaining invaluable experience that shaped me into the doctor I am today. While this environment refined my skills, practicing medicine within the managed care model often made it difficult to deliver the level of care I aspired to provide. Despite its advantages, the model frequently imposed limitations such as restricted time, financial constraints, and a standardized approach to patient care. Ultimately, I decided to establish my own practice to focus on the areas of medicine I believe are most beneficial to patients, allowing me to offer better access to care and deliver higher-quality, personalized services.

That’s how this clinic came to life. I’m honored that you’re considering joining me on the journey to better health and a more fulfilling life.
